 My name is Kate and I founded Artful Teasing in 2006 to create face and body care products that are as natural as possible, but which use innovative ingredients that have proven scientific benefits. I have always been passionate about plants for their beauty and fragrance. However I was disturbed by the claims made for their properties based on very dubious research. I use essential oils to fragrance my products because they smell so wonderful.
Together with my husband we combine over twenty-five years' experience in the cosmetic science industry with a passion for beauty, fragrance and design to create sumptuous, elegant blends inspired by the serene countryside that surrounds our boutique Petworth shop.We create exclusive formulations which are as good for your skin as they are for your nose. Our philosophy is all about creating natural products without sacrificing on effectiveness.
I often get asked about the name 'Artful Teasing'. I love to hear people outside our shop giggling at the name. I was reading my poetry books to find inspiration and came across the phrase in William Blake's poem 'The Voice of the Ancient Bard' from Songs of Experience. I like the idea that our products are look beautiful and tease the senses with their fragrance and feel.
I spend a lot of time in our boutique shop in Petworth listening to my customers and developing new products and packaging ideas. If you ever phone up it will probably be me answering the phone.
